Not sure what to say?

Greg was a revered member of "The Bird Bath" class of 1969, Santa Clara University. Brilliant and humorous. We once drove 12 hours from Santa Clara to Seattle to see a girl friend, only to turn around the next day and return because they broke up. A good man.

Greg was a force of nature, even in high school. He was our Student Body President and our Valedictorian at graduation. He had an amazing vocal ability, with lead roles in the musicals "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" and "South Pacific." Greg and I stayed in touch during and after college. Recently, we worked on our 50-year high school Reunion. Greg wrote the letter to our classmates, which resulted in establishing over $50,000 in an endowed scholarship fund at Bishop O'Dowd. He will be missed...

Greg, save a place for all of us

I met Greg and Cath on a blues cruise in January 2012 and found an instant rapport. We frequently corresponded since then comparing our political scenarios on both sides of the pond with his special brand of insight and humour. I feel cheated that it was to be such a short friendship. I share your loss.

Terribly sorry for his loss. A very good guy. We met at Santa Clara, both class of '69. I was then Mara MALONEY. Red hair.

One of the smartest, funniest, and sharp guys ever to serve under the CA capitol dome. Sympathies to your family & Cath.

It was an honor to serve with Greg. HIs dry humor, his knowledge of the Senate and rules all provided so many of us the support and friendship we needed to serve. To him public service was a virtue and the values he brought to the Senate helped provide all of us an inspiration.

Greg was the greatest to all of us in the Senate. Your sense of humor put a smile on the face of anyone lucky enough to have worked for you. I join the many sending sincere condolences to our family and Cathy
