Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home - Ansonia Obituary

NAUGATUCK: Gregory M. Sember, age 59, entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2021 at Griffin Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was the loving and devoted husband of Donna Giusto Sember.

Mr. Sember was born on June 12, 1961, son of John “Jack” Sember and Jean Lawrence Sember of Ansonia. Greg’s work career began at the former Stahl’s Derby Dodge and then he moved on to be the General Manager at Stevens Ford of Milford. Greg was then employed in the maintenance department for the City of Shelton. Family was everything to Greg and he enjoyed cooking for all of them. His greatest love was being a grandfather. Gregory frequently spent time with his friends in Rhode Island who he considered his extended family. Greg loved sports and he especially loved playing golf. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees and he was also a member of the Hilltop Hose Company in Ansonia.

In addition to his wife Donna and his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Gregory M. Sember Jr. (Lauren) of Seymour and Michael J. Sember of Naugatuck, daughters, Amanda Sember of Beacon Falls and Jessica Sember of Naugatuck, brothers, Jeffrey Sember (Maxine) of Seymour and Scott Sember (Terri) of Florida, a sister Lynette Glynn (Michael) of Florida, grandson Lucas Smith, granddaughter Evelyn Sember and several nieces and nephews. The Sember family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kathleen Chaisson and the staff of Griffin Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.

A contactless walk through visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday January 28, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through to pay their respects and exit without lingering. On Friday, all are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am (meeting directly) at Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff Street in Ansonia. Not sure what to say?

Thoughts and prayers on the time of sorrow

Very sorry to hear of Greg's passing

So sorry to hear of Greg’s passing. Several teammates were talking about him at our recent 40th NDWH reunion. He was missed. Hoping all of you remember his smile and better days.

My condolences to all the Sember family. I remember when I worked as a secretary, in the Ansonia High School Main Office, how very kind both Greg and Donna had always been to me. It was so nice to see a dad like Greg, who was so engaged in his children activities. His pride and joy was always evident in all that they did. May he Rest In Peace and all his family find comfort in knowing that others share their grief.
Deepest sympathy,
Gerri Southard

My sincere condolences to the Sember family. Greg was a student of mine at Notre Dame and I enjoyed watching him pitch as well. I'll always remember that booming laugh.

My condolences to the Sember family. I went to high school with Greg and played baseball with him for 4 years at NDHS. I have a lot of great memories from our senior season. Greg was a leader, always upbeat and a pleasure to be around. I was very sorry to hear of his passing.
