Gregory and I met very first week of college..so handsome, so smart, so sensitive and My Ferdinand to his Miranda in "The Tempest". I send my love to his family.

I have just come across this obituary and am very saddened by the news of Gregory's passing. We were very close in college and for a few years after. I will always remember him as loving, gentle, fun, supportive, a gifted writer and lover of literature. A beautiful soul. My prayers are with Greg's family and other loved ones. I have a good many pictures of Greg and would be happy to share them ([email protected])

Greg was a kind and loyal cousin, so good at staying in touch with family.

I remember when we started Sophomore English with Mr. Ashe, and were asked what we'd read over the summer. Among the list of usual 14-15 year old title choices came Greg Stahl's Dante's Inferno and something else equally amazing (was it the complete works of Shakepeare?). I think that's when I fully appreciated how profound his interests were, and that he was moving on a different plane than the rest of us. And yet he was one of us, part of everything, a leader and a friend. Such a rare and...

Greg was one of the smartest people I ever knew, but he was more than just intelligent; he was an athlete and a man of kindness and strength. I remember sharing the school athletic award our senior year. I wish his family peace.

Funny, thoughtful, bright, handsome, humble, and always smiling – no better friend could one wish for. Greg made positive marks in people's lives and I'm so glad he made a big one in mine. My thoughts are with his family.
