Not sure what to say?

Greg and I worked for the same postdoc adviser (John Travis) at the NBS (now NIST). Our time there overlapped. Greg was an excellent colleague and contributed to a very good learning environment in the labs. We saw each other often when we were attending the same scientific meetings but not so much as our careers diverged. I was very saddened by the recent news of his passing. Greg was an excellent scientist and, better yet, an excellent person. He is gone too soon.

Kathy and family please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We both were deeply saddened by Greg's passing. We've been friends for almost 40 years. I fondly recall my postdoc days at the Bureau enjoying our discussions and the daily commuter trips to and from Gaithersburg. Greg was not only a colleague but a friend who I will greatly miss.

I was very saddened to hear of the loss of Greg. He was one of those all around people who you were pleased to know. I knew him professionally, and followed some of the science he did on laser spectroscopy. As my host when I visited NIST he did his utmost to provide a friendly and comfortable occasion, which I always remembered. Some of my students used his scientific papers as an important source for their own work. My heartfelt condolences to his family. He will be remembered fondly...

I was surprised and saddened by the news of Greg's passing. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor as our children were growing up together. My heart goes out to Kathy and the girls.
