Not sure what to say?

My dear friend and colleague has been greatly missed. I recall many happy years when we were both teaching languages at Lincoln High School. How very nice to still remember her this way.

Greta, 2000

Greta thoughtfully sent notes which might include a newspaper clipping and affirmed the work/life of others. She always had an article of interest to spark our discussion group and was passionate about her new country.

Greta was one of the first League members I met when I joined. She always had throughtful opinions and added a great deal to our discussions. I'll miss her.

To Veronica and girls
We have lost a dear friend, and a world citizen. We've known her through AAUW, LWVSJV, Peace groups, Lincoln High school faculty and staff, and hundreds of students. She cared for so many and I feel honored to have called her good friend. We met for at least breakfast when I returned to Stockton just to see each other and exchange hugs. Otherwise our short notes kept us in touch as if I had not left her 10 years ago. You three "girls" have a great lady to...

Greta was an inspiration and encouraged me while I pursued a higher degree in biology as an adult. We also shared an intense interest in international issues.

We knew Greta as a gracious, kind and generous person, a friend for many years, a teacher, and a passionate supporter of many groups working for a better world - AAUW, Planned Parenthood, the Unitarian Church, ACLU, and League of Women Voters (we licked many stamps together for the newsletter.)She always kept her mind active, reading and enjoying a book discussion group.I recall her sharing her war experiences at the S.J.Storytellers Guild. She and George regularly swapped French and German...

I met Greta Meyer when I attended Jack and Jill nursery school with her daughter in 1956. I always enjoyed my times at the Meyers' home during play times with Veronica and remember that Greta always had something thought provoking to say. I remember how funny their dog "Cookie" was. I also remember family get-togethers to go sledding or boating and how much fun it was. Even though I was a child, Greta always treated me with respect and consideration. I will always remember that. Nancy...

I remember Greta Meyer as the mother of one of my neighborhood playmates (back in the very early 1960's)who joined in the fun of our imagination. I recall mudpies and other delights that she participated in. Thank you for the memories, Greta.
