Gretchen Staley
Gretchen Staley, 89, of Malvern died Monday, April 23, 2007 at Aultman Hospital, following a short illness. Gretchen was born in Canton, OH on July 23, 1917, the daughter of the late Peter and Antoinette (Marmo) Pietrafese. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club. She worked as a Hairdresser at Gretchen's Beauty Shop for 50 years. Gretchen is survived by a daughter, Jane (Gary) Phillips of Malvern; grandchildren, Jennifer (A. J.) Fichter, Shane Phillips; great-grandchildren, Brock, Blaze and Autum Fichter; two brothers, Mike Pietrafese of Minerva, William Pietrafese of Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Staley in 1994; brother, Joseph Pietrafese; sisters, Theresa Pariano, Mabel Bitzel and Mary Manneke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Malvern, OH with Celebrant Fr. Victor Cinson. Calling hours will be Thursday, 6-9 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with a Prayer Service at 8:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Building Fund, Carrollton St., Malvern, OH 44644. Friends unable to attend may register online at our website:
