Not sure what to say?

John, sorry to hear about Gretchen's passing. I loved her and Cherished her too. But it turned out for the best as I married a wonderful women and had a Daughter and now two Wonderful Grandchildren. I'm sure she was happy with you. If you get this I would sure appreciate an E-mail post verifying her passing. I suppose it's possible this is a different Gretchen Wade. Thank you.

John, So sorry to hear about Gretchen. She was my good friend in junior high! We stayed at each others houses for overnights and she was the first person I knew that had a dachshund! I remember I was so jealous of her because she had a felt skirt decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree and when she reached in the pocket she could turn real lights on it!! I didnt know you were in Florida -- we had lost touch, but I always liked being around her. Take care.

Dear John, Denny and I were saddened to hear about Gretchen, we thought of you two often after you left Rapid City & wondered if you were still in upstate NY. Give us a call sometime, we are in the book! We are getting older & slower, Denny was 82 in July! The Car Club dissolved four yrs ago, was sad but we were all getting too old! Our deepest sympathy to you John! We think of you often! Big hugs! Denny and Karen Busch

I first met Gretchen 40 years ago in October of 1980. She was my replacement as I was leaving what was then West River Children's Center, now Black Hills Children's Home. We worked together for several weeks and I was to work with her two different times again at Rapid Valley School and then at Berquist School. Our lives also intertwined with mother and daughter, Jean Truman and Tammy Foust as Gretchen taught with Tammy in three different school districts over the years. Tammy left us in 2000...

We are so saddened to hear of Gretchen’s passing. We have such fond memories of our time together at the CYC on the beautiful St. Lawrence River in NY. Please accept our deepest condolences John. You are in our prayers.

John...thinking of you at this sad time. Cherish memories of you and Gretchen from the NHVFD and auxiliary. Hugs, Frankie and Duane

I was saddened to hear of Gretchen’s passing although I know she is happy to see her creator face to face. I enjoyed sharing things with Gretchen when she taught across the hall from me. She was always so caring toward the children and everyone in her life. Our visit to see Gretchen and John and Sassy in New York was a fond memory for Bill and I. I pray for God’s peace and comfort for John.

My sincere sympathies. I cherish the memories made with Gretchen at EB Bergquist School. I admired her professionalism and enjoyed her humor. We both were animal lovers so shared many stories. I have thought of her often and we have chatted a few times since she left SD. Blessings to John.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked under Gretchen as an assistant at E.B.Bergquest in the Learning Center in Rapid City , South Dakota and enjoyed working with her. She was always kind, thoughtful, and caring. I will cherish the fond memories. Dawne Grandpre
