I knew Grey as her client for many years. Yet she was so much more than a therapist. Since she shared her life experiences, our exchanges frequently felt as if she was my wonderful friend or older sister. Grey was for me, like for many I imagine, the mother I never had: fierce defender, loving, encouraging, champion, and with the occasional bite on the neck like a lioness teacher.
