Guadalupe Esparza Obituary

Guadalupe
M. Esparza
SAN BENITO, TX.-
Surrounded by her family and friends, Guadalupe M. Esparza, 77, went into our Lord's loving embrace, November 1, 2011. She was born in San Benito, Texas to the late Hilario M. and Maria S. Martinez on July 7, 1934.
She was a devoted, loving wife and mother who took great pride in the accomplishments of all her family. Our mother lived a long and blessed life enjoyed by her family and friends. She taught her children and grandchildren through her inspiring stories of her family's struggles and success. We will never forget her sense of humor when she was around family and friends, how she would make you laugh and laughed you did. She always looked forward to the holidays when her family would gather together and how she loved to teased her add-ons (our spouses).
When we were children, she was instrumental in our introduction to our faith and seeing that we attended church and our religious education of her beloved Roman Catholic Church at St. Benedict's. As kids growing up, she always had homemade cookies waiting for us every day. Our birthdays never went without a birthday cake that she would make herself. Thank you, Mommy, for teaching me the love of cooking and baking that now your granddaughters and great-granddaughters are also doing. You taught your sons how to fend for themselves, that must have been a challenge but you loved every minute of it.
We saw the love that you and Dad had for each other. Many family and friends would also see, comment and admired it. She was admired for her skills of her homemade goodies and her handmade crochet items. How we will envy those Angels in Heaven with your gifts and talents.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilario M. and Maria S. Martinez; her brothers, Inocensio S. Martinez, and Alfonso S. Martinez.
She is survived by her loving and wonderful husband of 56 years, Arnulfo Esparza, Jr.; her five children; daughter Lydia (Jay) Jaramillo of San Benito, Alvaro Esparza of Austin, Armando (Charity) Esparza of Kyle, Arnoldo (Ann) Esparza of Lakeside, CA and Abelardo Esparza of Austin; her grandchildren will also miss her tremendously, Beatriz (Nate) Hoover of Port Orchard, WA, Dulce Jaramillo of Seattle, WA, Arnulfo (Danny) Esparza and Melissa Esparza of Lakeside, CA; she was overjoyed that she was able to be with her great-granddaughters, Aurora Skye and Scarlett Valentina of Port Orchard, WA; she is also survived by her sisters, Rosa (Martin) Zapata, Margarita Martinez and Dolores Alvarez; her brothers, Alejandro (Cuco) (Fidela) Martinez, Reynaldo Martinez, and Lorenzo (Sylvia) Martinez; along with numerous nieces and nephews from far and away.
The Esparza family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to those who cared for our mother; Eva Baker, a good friend and provider; Vicky Roy staff- Eusebia and Rosie; Dr. Indal Seudeal, her pulmonary specialist; Dr. Michael Evans, her cardiologist; the nursing staff on 3rd south, JoAnn, Jessica, Joe, Fred, Samantha, CCU, Susan and Imelda, along with 4th floor Dr. Castillo and staff who made it possible for Mother to pass peacefully. Our outmost gratefulness to Chaplain John, Sister Aurora and especially Father J. Patrick who gave our mother the most beautiful last rites.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary service at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at San Benedict's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park

Arnulfo,Lydia,Alvaro,Arnold,Armando and Abel we are very sorry for the loss of you wife and precious mom. Lupe was a wonderful human being with a big smile and a big heart. As her neighbors we saw
each other often and she always offered a smile and a wave and concern for our mom and family. And we did enjoy her prepared goodies.
She is gone but you will keep her memories alive in your hearts.
May God comfort each and everyone of you.
