Feerick Funeral Home - Shorewood Obituary

Peacefully passed away on October 24, 2018, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Kurt Berger. Loving mother of Dr. Gisela (Jack Molinard) Berger. Proud grandmother of Patrick and Margarethe. Further survived by other relatives and friends both in the United States and Germany.

Gudrun immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1950’s. She met her future husband Kurt Berger at the Milwaukee Fencing Club’s Christmas party in the late 1950’s, and they were married in 1959 and shortly thereafter had their daughter Gisela. In 1964 the family moved to Germany and in 1968 moved to Ethiopia. In 1972 they moved back to the United States and made Shorewood their home. Gudrun was very involved in her Shorewood Community, and won awards for her gardening. She also practiced and taught cosmetology in Milwaukee for many years. She resided in Shorewood until 2014, when she moved to Thiensville.

Private interment took place at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials in Gudrun’s name may be made to the WI Humane Society, 4500 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53208.

Not sure what to say?

Gisela and family, please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother Gudrun. She was a special friend to us and our family for many years. I loved her soft spoken voice...yet direct observations. She was so proud of you, Jack, Patrick, Margarethe.

Im so sorry to hear Gudrun passsd away. She was a lovely person who was dear to my mom and dad. They celebrated many wonderful times together during her long life. She will be missed by many of her friends and family. Thinking of her daughter during this difficult time. Thoughts and prayers.

"Sorry for the loss of your loved one. May our heavenly Father sustain the family at this time of great loss."

The loss of a love one is difficult. May the precious memories you have help you cope and bring you peace. 1 Thes. 4:14 can bring you some comfort knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be reassuring. May the God of peace be with you and your family

You are not alone during this time of sorrow and pain. May God give your family strength and comfort to help you endure this loss. As you remember your beloved one, the God of peace give you comfort and peace in every way. May you find Strength from the love and care that surrounds you and comfort in the memories that you shared. Please accept my sincere condolences. IS 41:10
