Gus G. Demos, 84, Anderson, passed away January 20, 2006, at St. John’s Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born November 8, 1921, in Tiffin, Ohio, the son of George and Milia (Xentares) Demos. He was raised in Elwood, Indiana , graduating from Elwood High School in 1940 and moved to Anderson in 1948. Gus retired from Delco-Remy in 1981 after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, UAW-CIO Local #662 and was a veteran of the US Navy serving with the Sea Bee’s during WWII.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony and wife Christina Demos of Anderson, Edward and wife Sherry Demos of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Ryan Demos of Muncie, Lynn Demos of Anderson; two brothers, Theodore Demos of Muncie, Leo Demos of Indianapolis; one sister Georgia Demos of Anderson; two sister-in-laws, Patricia Ketcham of Anderson, Alice and husband Edward Sczesny of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rozella K. (Sokol) Demos; a brother, James Demos; a sister Angeline Vrouvas.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Father Edward Dhondt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post #266.
Friends may from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
