I WAS A STUDENT IN GUS'S CLASSES IN 1959 AND 1960. OUR WHOLE FAMILY BECAME INVOLVED WITH GUS WHEN MY BROTHER,MERLE GOT SO SICK. HE CAME TO OUR HOME AND GAVE HIM PERSONAL TEACHING; AS HE WAS NOT ABLE TO ATTEND CLASSES. HE DIDNT WANT MERLE TO EVER FLUNK DUE TO HIS ILLINESS. I WENT TO WEST OTTAWA JR.SR. HIGH SCHOOL FOR 2 YRS. BEFORE OUR FAMILY MOVED TO FLORIDA. GUS AND BARBARA TOOK VACATIONS TO FLA. TO MY PARENTS HOUSE. BY THIS TIME I HAD GOTTEN MARRIED. GUS AND...

I am sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace. It was my honor to have known him. He was my principal when I was in the 5th grade at Ventura elementary school in 1962. My brother had rheumatic fever before that time. Mr. Feenstra came to our house to keep up his schooling during his recovery. My brother, Merle kept in touch with him all these years. He was a special gentleman. I am blessed to have known him.

Loved that man. Such a great neighbor to my brother. Ron truly thought the world of Gus and Barb. My prayers go out to you Barb and the family. RIP Gus.

My sincere sympathies to you all. Comfort in the coming months. I spent a lot of time at your house as a kid and have nothing but fond memories of you all. Pam ( Bakker) Veldheer
