I just learned of the passing of Palmer Fire District Chief Gus Theodore. I recall many enjoyable meetings with 'Gus' both during my tenure with ISO, the community colleges and as Massachusetts State Fire Marshal. He always had the citizens of the district and the town foremost in his thoughts. He was a person of integrity, humility, vision and an excellent Chief. When I was a kid he seemed bigger than life. Like a superhero. Gussy was the best.
