In 1975 myself and a friend were two Irish students living in a VW van and travelling thru the US over 2 years. We fetched up in Lafayette and met Guy one day. He was wonderfully hospitable and warm and introduced us to friends of his in the oilfield business who gave us work as roustabouts & roughnecks. We were only there for 10 weeks but we loved Guy and visited him in his home for bbq etc. Guy was so warm and friendly - we will never forget him. The Two Irish Boys



Guy Sr. was always a kid at heart and bigger than life. His jois de vivre will be missed by all. My sympathies to the Ellison family.

I am so honored to have known Mr. Guy even though it was for a short period of time. We worked in the same building at the time we met, I worked for Oral Surgeons on the first floor of the building and each morning I had the pleasure greeting this wonderful gentleman. It was truly an honor to know him because he always had words of wisdom for me and always reminded me that I had "many of good reasons to smile" and would start announcing the reasons. Guy,Jr., Greg, Carol, and Elizabeth; your dad has deeply touched my life as well the lives of the entire Blackstone clan. I will always remember his bold singing voice and his love for God. His gregarious personality will be sadly missed by all.

Very sorry to hear about Mr. Guy. Certainly played a large role in my life.

Mom and I are so sad to hear the news. Guy was a great friend to my dad while Dad was still alive. Our sympathies go out to all of Guy's children and grandchildren. We have lost a wonderful man and he will be missed by so many!
