Not sure what to say?

Guy started both of us on our instruments in grade school and we were in his first year as director of the Laporte High School Band and orchestra. We are about ( May 2024) to both start another season in the Michigan City Municipal Band - 67 years for Roger & 57 for Sue. We are forever grateful for Guy's "Leadership" through all these years.

From Roger and Sue (Bowell) Smith - LaPorte. How heartwarming to get this Legacy reminder after 5 years. And, amazingly, just within a week ago as we were practicing ( violin/clarinet), we paused to remember again (Apr 13, 2017) Guy's expertise at expressing nuance of tempo and style - "vaccinating" us for life!

Guy was a constant force at VanderCook College of Music for decades. Many of our alumni - now music teachers themselves - came to VanderCook by way of Guy. He was committed to living life well with music. His positive, hopeful spirit will be missed.

We were both blessed to have been under the direction and influence musically of Guy from grade school (40's), jr.high, and high school and for 50 plus years as members of the Michigan City Municipal Band when Guy was director. We both felt his ability to conduct nuance of tempo changes and musical style to be a signature trait of his that colors our playing today.
We were members of his very first year(1956) as director of the LaPorte High School band and orchestra and will be playing...

36 years ago Guy ("Uncle Bud") asked Ken Brelsfoard and me to create a narrative ballet to dance with the Municipal Band on a yearly basis - an idea that stretched me wonderfully creatively and still goes on each summer. Guy would even be a part of some of our dances and always got a kiss from the leading ballerina at the end of the number. I grew artistically working with him and loved him dearly. Barb, his neice, worked with us often, too when she danced - my love and condolences to you,...

Mr. Foreman was my Orchestra teacher at LPHS. He was one of my most encouraging teachers. I have never forgotten his kindnesses. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family for the loss of this genuine and special man.

Mr. Foreman was a wonderful teacher and musician. I am fortunate to have been one of his students. My sincere condolences to his family.

Guy Foreman impacted my life. Largely because of him I majored in music education in college and taught public school music for 41 years. There are concepts are learned from Mr. Foreman that I passed along to my hundreds of students. I think he was disappointed in me for not choosing to attend VanderCook. He was gracious enough to have the LPHS band read the first piece of music I wrote one year. During college I played for him in the Michigan City Band. I have always remembered him...

Mr. Foreman was one of a kind. He impacted so many over the years through his dedication and love of music.
