Not sure what to say?

To the Family of Guy:
Guy was very good to me and my Journalism students at Powell County High. He paid our dues for several years for the High School Journalism Association and recommended me for the founding board of the association. We have many memories that neither my students nor I would have had without the generosity of Guy. We will all miss him. God Bless you-all

"KY Big Dawgs"

This entry is for Teresa and her family, as well as all of Guy's Boy Scout buddies.

I've known Guy for over thirty years through the Boy Scouts of America (B.S.A.), and through the Order of the Arrow (OA). Guy felt that the B.S.A. made him the man that he was. It gave him honor, character, and a sense of pride and patriotism. Guy had a big heart, and always went out of his way to help the less fortunate. In scouting he did this by sponsoring Eagle Scouts, covering the costs of many a...

To The Hatfield Family:
We are so sorry to hear of Guy's passing. He will be greatly missed in Estill County, however his legacy will long on.
Haven't seen Guy for several years, but he was always so happy to see you and always a cheery story to tell.
Will keep the family in our Prayers and May God Bless each of you.

When the guys from the old fraternity get together and remember what we did and who did what, Guy's name always comes up as one of the driving forces of our fraternity. He set the stage, laid the groundwork, and set the wheels in motion for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at the EKU Campus. To say on top of that, that he was a good man, would be an understatement as his accomplishments are too many to list here. Teresa, it was a pleasure to meet you, I just wish "Hats" could have stuck...

Teresa, I am so sadden by the passing of Guy and knowing how much he loved you. I was at EKU with him and we used to tease him that he was the Big Man on Campus. He was the president of his fraternity and student Board of Regents and had his name on plaques and they are still there.

I will always remember our group--Steve Fore, Charlie Abner and Guy. They made college fun but we all cared about people as well. We were friends until the end.

My Dad died from...

Guy was a great fraternity brother and his efforts were instrumental in taking BOG to SAE. His passing will be a loss , but he will always be a brother and we'll meet in the chapter eternal.

Guy was one of the first newspaper people I met when I started in the business at The Winchester Sun. We printed his Citizen Voice and Times each Wednesday night and I came to know him through our conversations many a late night in the mailroom. He was many things to a lot of people, but most important to me - he was my friend. We didn't always see eye-to-eye, but his honesty and integrity were never questionable and I valued greatly his views and opinions.
I don't know where this...

Guy called me in the Spring of 1983, during my senior year of high school, offering an opportunity to cover Estill County sports and "take a few pictures".

It was my first "real" job and ended up taking me through high school and my college degree at EKU. Several hundred rolls of film and six years later, I left Guy's beloved Citizen's Voice & Times with a heart filled with terrific memories, wonderful friendships and a healthy dose of Guy's insight to life.

I am so saddened to hear that "Hats" has passed. Ironically, our local fraternity at EKU (Beta Omicron Gamma) has just recently started planning a reunion, and Guy was of course on the top of the list. He was my roomate my junior year, and I was his "big brother". Guy was the key member who took us from "local" fraternity status to national (SAE). I'll see him again someday in the chapter eternal, and we'll share and laugh at our memories of EKU and our fraternity days. My thoughts and...
