Not sure what to say?

My thoughts and prayers to the whole family..it saddens me to here the news. He was my childhood hero! I'll always remember the Guy (Mr Trottier is what I called him) who game me my first real hockey stick...who carried an organ on his back when we moved...who pinned Dirk in 8 seconds on the front lawn...who could make the best use of colorful words that us young kids really admired - except when I knocked out Daniel's tooth during driveway hockey. Yes, Mr Trottier also gave us the goals...

Been a long time since 1963 in Philadelphia, when I played with Guy, but I so remember those times and am sorry to hear of Guy's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Guy's family. RIP, Guy.

RIP Guy! As the sons of Chuck Sheets, we grew up playing hockey & knew both Guy & Dianne. Then we both worked as off-ice officials for the Bombers & was around Guy & I (Mark) got to know Daniel & son while goal judging for the Bombers & at Troy Hobart Arena when I was ref for Daniel's son's games. Guy was constantly present & I got to see he & Dianne quite a lot. Will sure miss seeing & talking to Guy.
Keep close to God, Dianne & family & He will see you thru this difficulty.

I feel so fortunate to have known & worked with Guy, one fine gentleman. All my years of refing DAHA, college, Old Timers, Silver Stick & other Hockey tournaments, being Gems goal judge many years, then head of Bombers Off-Ice Officials 13 years (retiring from that team the same year as Guy), kept me close in touch with him. But that wasn't the end of his hockey connections. I remember him wanting me to ref games for lower leagues he coached in, long after I had retired from refing....

Haven't had a clear head since hearing of Guy's passing late Fri. The Gems brought Hockey to Dayton & we remember the original players & at the top of the list is GUY TROTTIER! He was on his way to the highest league, made it & as he came back down Dayton was fortunate to get him the rest of his life which ended too soon. The Hockey World has lost one of it's finest & truly great representatives. He was Dayton's "Mr. Hockey" for sure. He was friendly & likeable to all who met him & we could...

Guy was a Great Guy, loved talking to him at the hockey games, Bombers, Gems, Demonz . I was not old enough to remember him playing with the Original Dayton Gems, However his heart was always in hockey. You helped me during some rough spots last season and always was willing to talk to the fans. I hold great respect for you. and You will be missed. Deepest Condolences to the whole family. - Cyndamarie and Nigel Gunn , Connie Moore
