Jan, I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother, may her memories be a blessing.

Condolences to you, John and your family. You both always had a smile and made time for others. I will always remember your welcoming me into the Mount Zion Hospital community when I started practice in 1982, and the numerous patients you sent my way and encouragement. Gwen was a blessing to all she touched, and you continue to inspire us all.

Dr. Kerner was my incredible doctor from when I first arrived in SF and knew no one. Many years later, my husband and I were always thrilled to run into Dr. Kerner and his wife at Rue Lepic, where they always looked happy as clams. When we would speak in your office I recall seeing the beautiful photos from your many world travels that you shared with Gwen. I met Gwen when I joined the UCSF Cancer Registry in 2009. I was so impressed how she carried herself so elegantly that I told her "I wish I can be like you when I reach your age, so beautiful soul, always with a smile and a glow in her eyes". I miss you already!
