Not sure what to say?

I am another cousin who corresponded with Gwen for many years. We shared our passion for genealogy and our struggles with research. She shared so much wonderful information and photographs with me over the years. It would have taken me ages to find these things on my own. I so wish I had met her in person. She called me once to share an exciting genealogical discovery, and right away it felt like she was an old friend. I will miss her very much.

My mother and Gwen had the same grandfather, Ira Tinker, and I met her and Tim at their home in Homer some years ago..We visited her in St. Pete several times...She sent me many pages of the Tinker family history..W used the pages to seek out more information on John Tinker who arrived in Boston in 1633. Visited Groton, Mass. and got writings of John and shared them with Gwen..She was great to me in giving so much information on the Tinkers. We will miss her ..Our prayers and thoughts are with...

Dear Family,
Your mother and my mother (Margaret O'Donnell) both taught in the Cortland School district. When I got my first teaching job as a Kindergarten teacher (in 1972), your mother told my mom that she would be happy to help in any way as I prepared to start my career and gave me one of her plan books from a past year so that I could see how to set up a program for my Kindergarten. She also met with me before I left Cortland for my new job to answer any questions I might have had. ...

I am sorry to hear of Mrs. McCabe's passing. She was wonderful person and a super-terrific Teacher. I will always remember her. My thoughts and prayers are with the Family.

To the McCabe Family:
So very sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person to know. My parents thought very highly of your Mom and Dad.

Gwen was a cousin of my mother, Alice Marie Castilla McConnell (her mother was a Tinker). I saw Gwen when she was in FL during the winters in St. Pete. Was often invited to her home in Homer during the summer but never made it to visit her. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I had hoped to visit with her this winter again. I appreciate all of the time she spent on the Tinker geneaology and all of the information she shared with me. My prayers are with you and your family!

Tim, Pat, Steve, and families
For many years your Mom was a very good friend to Aunt Marie, especially after Uncle John's death. Her friendship helped not only our aunt, but also many people in the Cortland/Virgil area. She was a giving, caring lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our condolences to Tim and Annette and the entire McCabe family.
