Gwendolyn Olive (Turk) Smith, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 6, 2012. She was born to Earl and Olive (McCullick) Turk on September 10, 1919 in Crawford County, WI. She was married to George A. Smith and he preceded her in death. She lived in Gays Mills, WI until the flood, and then relocated to Easley, SC where she resided with her daughter Nancy. Gwenie worked in the apple orchards of Gays Mills as a young women and retired from National Lock, Rockford, IL after 27 years of service She was a member of Maple Ridge Bible Church, Boscobel and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Piedmont, SC after her relocation. Many who knew Gwenie only knew her lovingly as Grandma Smith of mom and she will be greatly missed She is survived by Daughters Beth (Russell) Lukes of Davis, IL Nancy (Hollis) Smith of Easley, SC She has 15 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild Sister Laura Etta Bown of Soldiers Grove, WI A very precious sister-in-law and friend Juanita Smith of Boscobel, WI Many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George A. Smith, the love of her life, daughter Sandra Matlock, brothers, Walter (Jim) Turk, Deward Turk and a sister Darlene Hayden Services will be held on Saturday, February11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Maple Ridge Bible Church, 43955 Cnty. Rd. E Boscobel, WI 53805, with Pastor Noel Mayes officiating and burial will take place in the Gays Mills Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the Maple Ridge Bible Church. The Beeman-Patchak Funeral Home of Boscobel is assisting the family.
