Gweneth Gates Mulder

I knew Gwen in many ways: She hired me in my first teaching job in the Sociology Department at Jacksonville State University in 1974; she was a colleague at the U with my brother Ken before that; she became a friend of the family. I will always remember her kindness; her exuberant love of teaching--love for her students and love of the craft of teaching (of which she was a master)--; her sense of humor; her generous insistence on understanding everyone's point of view. I will miss her.

My husband, Gary, and I first got acquainted with Gwen through PFLAG. She has been a wonderful friend and a person who could cross generations with her friendship, intelligence, wisdom, and service to others. She will be greatly missed.
