Not sure what to say?

We have been abroad since mid 2017 and are just now getting this heavy news.

Gwynne was an amazing inspiration- so incredibly smart, dedicated and compassionate in her work and life. I know the Palestinian human rights plight, as one of her most inspirational causes that she furthered, feels a great loss as do her other inspiring activism projects. Gwynne will be sorely missed.

Sending love to Beth, Ella and Lucy

I have a hard time speaking of Gwynne in the past tense because someone who fights that hard in so many ways surely continues to radiate light. A true advocate and deeply devoted mother. I don't think I'll ever meet another person so restlessly ambitious for good yet so grounded in family. Love grounded her on earth so that she could reach higher. She did just that.

An amazing human. Gwynne was a light in any room she entered. A true hero for equality. I will miss her. It's time to take the "free advice" she gave.lol Raising a pint to you gal!

Beth, Joy, and families,
We extend our sincere sympathy on your loss. We knew Gwynne from an early age in Colfax Iowa. I was her second grade teacher. She always was a special person. Again, our sympathy.

Dave and Marianne Wharff

Gwynne and I first met in Colfax IA in elementary school when her dad was the elementary school principal and my mom's boss. We reconnected in college at UNI and she was the star political science student and leader of student government. What a tremendous loss. My condolences to her family.

Whew! Could hardly believe this news when it broke! Our friendship was relatively new--just in the last couple of years did I have the rich opportunity to chat with Gwynne--but oh, will she ever be missed by applicants for our scholarship! Gwynne wrote more letters of recommendation for more worthy students than probably all other law professors in the state combined, in the 22 years of our fund. By the time you'd completed one of Gwynne's letters, you felt you really knew this law...

I am so very sadden to hear of Gwynnes passing. She truly was an amazingly strong woman and I feel blessed to have known her.

My sincere condolences to Beth, Lucy, Ella, and families.

I remember Gwynne as the nationally recognized, consummate professional who could transform herself in to a bland cotton sweat suit with a whistle around her neck the next as she was whisking daughter, Ella out the door to basketball practice. Kind, modest, respectful, a wonderful mom to Lucy and Ella, and loving partner of Beth. She lived a life that will inspire me always. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to you all. Love, George
