Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Blanchet's passing. He and I corresponded (all too briefly) via email about his WWII experiences aboard USS Dale W. Peterson. I am working on a project about the ship, and he was most helpful and very encouraging of my efforts. I still have many questions to ask him; I guess now they'll have to wait until the Next Life.

We loved and adored Andre, having known him since the early '80s when he and Rosie used to work the fair circuit selling T-shirts and other items. We are honored to have over ten original oil & water color paintings by Andre. He filled our life with joy and we will miss one of the most talented, generous, smart and greatest story tellers that we have ever known. Alan & Judy Hall

We loved Andre and are deeply saddened by this news. He came to Paris a few years ago and was up for anything...including dancing on a dinner boat on the Seine. What a wonderful and creative spirit. Such a loving man. He and Rosie were wonderful together. We will miss you, dear Andre.

La Quinta Arts Foundation mourns the passing of celebrated artist Andre Blanche. Andre was a long standing member and supporter of La Quinta Arts Foundation.

Andre, always accompanied by his dedicated wife Rosie, was an enthusiastic participant in our art events for many years, including Art Under the Umbrellas, Desert Plein Air and La Quinta Arts Festival.

Friend, instructor, mentor, Andre will long be remembered for his talent, genuine nature, and for his many...

I will miss my friend, just as I have missed Rosie. I am so happy they are together again. My heart goes out to the family. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. When I see that beautiful sunrise or sunset painted across the sky I will think of my friend Andre!

Whenever I wanted an honest opinion, I'd get one from Andre. He always let me know where he stood on his ideas. The world is that much better for having Andre in it. As neighbors, we will miss him a lot, but are happy that he is reunited with his beloved wife Rose. Cheers to you both!

Andre was a wonderful friend. He was so pleased when I published my first book as he always supported those with a creative bent. He encouraged me to continue writing and as a result have completed four novels and working on a fifth. He called me 'Writer' and I called him 'Artist'. I know his talented brushes will be put to work in his heavenly home.

I am the only owner of an original Blanchet painting with TWO lizards hidden in the picture. When Andre was looking for a pet for Rosie he talked to me about Shih Tzus and because he loved my 'Obie" so much he got Rembrandt for her. He was a dear friend and I will miss him very much.

Thank you for finding me "Geena" love always, Rembrandt..

Deeply sadden to hear of Mr Blanchet's passing. I have to honor of raising their Shih tzu "Rembrandt" named by Andre. It was difficult for Rosie and Andre to let him go at 4 months old, he had been such a great love in my life and I have the Blanche'ts to thank. We will both miss. Your friend, Geena West and "Remmie, 6 y/o."
