Mark & I are still in shock. HC was one in a million. I will never forget how upset he was the day Ed was run over and he cried with me when I was at your house. Dear Kilpatrick Family,

While I may not know your family personally, as a fellow Coast Guard member, my thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

My father passed away unexpectedly late October 2008 at the young age of 54, so my family is painfully aware of what these trying times feel like.

Please know if you ever need a helping Coast Guard hand, I am stationed in New Orleans as well.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is a loss to everyone that knew HC. From the moment i reported to ESD and found out that he was from the same "neck of the woods" as me, we were close. I considered you and HC as my best friends. To be honest HC was kinda like a 2nd dad to me. I will miss him so much. Please keep in touch with me and let me know if you need anything. There are no words to describe the shock and sorrow I feel, and I'm sure you're dealing with as well. Tiffany and I were remembering the day you watched Hayley while Tyler was born, and how HC was the first to hold my son after he was born, aside from Tiffany and I.
