Some of my fondest memories of Doug were at "the farm" in my very early years. With uncles (who were really brothers) Carroll and Jack, both now also gone, and Jim, life was simple and uncomplicated. Ray, being the patriarch of the McKee family, was the one we all looked up to. My uncles may remember this differently, but Ray was the fighter. I don’t think he ever backed down from anyone; never aggressive, but a man of intimidating presence. Doug, on the other hand, would think things through...
