Not sure what to say?

We, at the Kent County Democratic Party, applaud Judge Soet´s lifelong commitment to fairness and Democratic values. His memory will live on.

So happy I was able to see the service via zoom. It was lovely. Of course, we will miss him. He and I were the only people who liked the living room couch. Ann will have to figure out how a grocery store works. The New York Times will surely go under, as will the vendor who sold David his copy every day. The Volvo dealership will remember him fondly, as will his health club. The Kent County Democrat party, although better off now, can ill-afford to lose such a faithful and hard-working...

Love from his fellow Creston classmate, yellow dog democrat, and friend. Love from her daughter too. God Bless.

Dear Annie, words cannot describe your loss. May your memories of your good life with David help you during this loss of your special husband. God Bless ! Ron Wozniak.

Loved the man! We served on the board of All Souls for many years together and always on the nominating committee where we would identify people to run for the executive roles of the church. We would review all the wonderful people at the church and divvy up who to "target" with our appeals and celebrating our successes. We would count money together after the collection and David would never use a calculator so he could keep his mind sharp. I loved his jokes, dry wit, political perspectives,...

One of the greats on the bench..he was always patient with the new attorneys...always offered advice and wisdom...he was the ultimate professional and was always fair..he touched many lives..always for the greater good..he will be missed...prayers to his friends and family- Naesha Leys

We Van't Huls lived next door to David and his family on Morris Avenue for several years in the 1960s. I remember him as smart and genial; no wonder our dad, Bernie Van't Hul, loved chatting with him. David made the trip to Ann Arbor for Bernie's memorial service in 2016 and shared some memories from the podium, which we appreciated very much. My siblings join me in sending condolences to all David's family.

My condolences to the family. God-Bless.

I knew Judge Soet for fifty five years and through many political campaigns and i had the great honor of taking his seat at the court after his retirement. I learned a great many lessons from him both in politics and the court.. When i became a judge he took me out to lunch and gave me very wise advice that seved me well. he was always the ultimate gentleman and a person of great integrity. I will always treasure the memories of the friday lunches with Dave and Dennis Kolenda and Bob Benson....
