Remembering H. Craig Carter June 9th, 1954 to February 23, 2012 On February 23, 2012 at the age of 57, H. Craig Carter's life was cut short in a tragic car accident. Craig was born of June 9th, 1954 to Harold R. and Eura K. Carter of Montesano. Craig grew up in Montesano with his two older sisters Donna and Kay. He attended school in Monteaso where he was a varsity football and basketball player. Craig graduated from Montesano High School in 1972 and the attended Grays Harbor Community College. At a young age Craig's facination with mechanical things started when he started racing soap box cars and over time it progressed to motorcycles, race cars, big trucks, and equipment. Craig had his first job weighing trucks at his father's company, Interstate Asphalt at the age of 11. With Craig's work eithic and drive it was only inevitable that he would go into business for himself. He purchased a dump truck and later he would convert that truck into a log truck. In 1979, Craig married Julie Louthan of Montesano. During their marriage they had two children, Jamie Yvonne on November 30, 1980 and Jasen Craig on January 2, 1983. Jamie and Jasen were his everything and his world revolved around them. Julie and Craig later divorced. His kids grew up Jamie had 2 children, Gaven and Jaiden. He lived for them. In 1992, logging had slowed down on the Harbor and ready for a new adventure Craig took a job in Alaska. Upon his return he bought Tagman Logging and several more trucks. Craig worked hard all his life with to get to the place he was at and he did this with his children always in his mind. Craig also married Shirley Gillman in 1995, who he was divorcing at the time of his death. Craig had moved on with his life and found new happiness when he met his kind of crazy in Robin Tweter. Craig's life was cut short. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace. A memorial schorship fund is being set up in Craig's name.
