Conrad Murrell, 89, of Bentley, was called home to be with our Lord, on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Woods Haven Nursing Home, Pollock.

Conrad Murrell was set apart by God as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was pastor of several churches earlier in his ministry and was a true man of God, a genuine preacher of the gospel. He became an evangelist in his 30’s and preached at churches across the United States and in other countries. He had a heart to help other pastors, and this was his primary goal for founding Grace Bible Camp in Bentley. One once said of him, “he was a Pastor of Pastors”.

Bro. Murrell was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice V. Murrell; second wife, Grace Owens Gatch Murrell; daughter in law, Kay Malone Murrell; parents, Alvin and Era Thompson Murrell; brothers, Kerwin E. Murrell, Fred D. Murrell, and Waynon T. Murrell, and a sister, Lila Gayle Willingham.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Timothy Murrell (Shirley), James Murrell (Cherry), Kenneth Murrell (Sylvia), William Murrell (Brenda), Pamela Murrell Johnson (Dale); stepchildren, Gary Gatch (Lynn), David Gatch (Melissa), Julie Cogan (Christopher) and Stephanie Holliday; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Glenda Landry and a host of other family members and friends.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Gatch, Gary Gatch, Al Quartemont, Phillip Neeley, Russell Lee and Josue Contrares.

The family request that any memorial donations be made to any individual or group involved in proclaiming and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Not sure what to say?

Conrad was a first cousin to my deceased wife Oneida Barton Elmore. Conrad's mother Era Thompson Murrell and Oneida's mother Gracie Angeline Thompson Barton were sisters. Oneida would often speak about Conrad to me and loved him so much. I wish I could have had a closer relationship with Conrad, but our callings from the Lord took us in places very distant from each other. Oneida and I served as Missionaries in Ceylon (aka) Sri Lanka, the Fiji Islands, and the Philippines over several...

A GREAT MAN OF GOD AND A PREACHER'S FRIEND

Our prayers are with Bro. Conrad's family. He really helped us out when we had to evacuate for Hurricane Katrina. That is something we'll never forget. The times in his presence he really made us feel welcome. And we also remember how he welcomed our daughter Melissa and husband David Gatch when they first moved there. He is now enjoying a much-need and well-deserved rest with our Lord Jesus.
Gasper and Josie Mangerchine and family.

Conrad was my family's hero if "hero" is allowed in Christian faith. My daddy, Ed Schumacher and Brother Conrad are singing and praying for the rest of us as they hug in heaven.

Fond memories of a man I learned much from.

Kenneth,
My prayers are with you and your family,
Your dad was a man of faith and his walk with the Lord was resolute. He was respected by all who knew him.
Blessings,
Mike and Millie

Our prayers are with you all, may the Lord be with you in this time of both sorrow and hope.
