I am so sorry to hear of the passing of this great man, but the angels will be singing a little louder. What great memories I have of this gentle soul as we tested his patience on more than one occasion during our teen years.

I join countless other Baylor and Furman Alumni in mourning the passing of a truly great man. In 1979 I came to Baylor as the first second generation student of Dr. FLanders. He had taught my father at Furman. He became a trusted friend and mentor. I will forever hear his incredible, booming voice turning the difficult names of the Old Testament into something beautiful and poetic. Our prayers are with all of you.
