Not sure what to say?

This was a photo of my kids at his Retirement Party. He was the most amazing physician. My oldest son was actually born on his birthday. I thought that was a sign that we were in the right place. My kids often asked if I knew anything about him after he retired. I was so sad to see that he passed. He meant a lot to me and my family.

We met in the 1960's when he 'took calls' for a family member and we met many times after that since the house on Cambridge was, and still is, on my walking route. in the eighties Dr. Hildebrandt explained his unique approach to the hillside yard that led up to their house. That home, in and of itself it treasure, a museum now holding bits of his family history as well as traces of his diverse interests. If only his house could retain his collections and works of art as they are now, just as...

To the family of Mark Hildebrandt, I am so sad to see this obituary. Your dad/grandfather was a cousin of my mom, Martha McNaughton Field. She passed away in 2022 but she loved corresponding with Mark- and she loved sending him cookies at Christmas time and receiving cookies from him. My thoughts are with all of you. I hope that we can connect in the future to carry on the tradition of corresponding with our cousins. Hugs to you all. Mark was a wonderful man.

Uncle Mark was my mother's brother. He was always a good comfort for her as she navigated polio, marriage, five children and divorce. We were so fortunate to have him in our lives. He will be missed by all of his neices and nephews and close community members. His love of pediatrics, cello, St Andrews and family history will be a gift that is never forgotten. I am fortunate to have several of his books that he wrote with a passion to preserve history. Marjorie Johnson Solomon

My condolence's. Mark married my mother Emily and took care of her as she developed Alzheimer´s. He was a good guy and will be missed.

My mother knew Dr H when they were at UM. They went their separate ways, yet sent Xmas cards. After my father died, my mother wasn't doing well; Mark invited her to Ann Arbor. She was so worried about propriety- we kids told her JUST GO. She did, he proposed, they had 5 good years of marriage. Then it was nursing homes, for her, but he did visit often, even the day prior to when she passed on. My experience of him was that he was generous, magnanimous, giving, knowledgeable, and...
