Hachem Mahdi Obituary
Passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the age of 60.
Beloved son of the late Jaafar Mahdi and late Fouzieh El Cheikh of Lebanon.
Loving husband of Majida Mousawi.
Adored father of Hachem, Ali and Noor.
Much loved brother of Hassan, Adnan, Daher, Zena (Mark Nelson ) and Sanaa (Hajj Mounzer Mahdi) , all of Ottawa; Radwan, Rahme (Hajj Ahmad Maladan), Mohammad, Khaled and Wafaa (Mohammad Fouani), all of Lebanon.
He will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Lebanon.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road).
Burial on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Ottawa Muslim Cemetery, 1668 Manotick Station Rd.
He is not gone, he just left the room.

Words can not express how sorry I was to hear of the passing of Hachem(Charlie) We were all looking forward to spending more nights at the Bide-a-wee with Charlie.He was a wonderful man and won't be forgotten.We will keep the family in our prayers over the next few difficult days. Majida, Hachem, Ali and Noor....Bob and I are so very sad at the news of your great loss. Mr. Mahdi, as I always called him, was an inspiration, the kindest of kind men, who lived his life only with LOVE. You 4 were the sun and moon to him. May he rest in peace and may your hearts find peace too. May you feel his love for you always, guiding you and strengthening you. We were so honoured to have been your neighbours at Coady and to have known such a man as he was and is. Our love is with you....

I am so sorry for your loss. I was very fortunate to see Charlie at the Bide a Wee this past Friday and Saturday night, made us felt right at home again. Charlie was very welcoming and it felt like he never left. Sharing wonderful memories of the past. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and in our thoughts each day.
