A Hadley Sculpture

Sharing a novel sculpture created by Hadley in the late 60's - early 70's....It was a gift to my mother, Sally Greene, who joined her friend in Heaven on 3/3/2020. I remember as a child admiring this brilliant one of kind art piece....and my Mom left it for me. They were the greatest of friends...and pen pals (before the email days!!) I have many letters written by Hadley to her, often from some far-flung locale while he served in the military. Over the years toward the end, they lost touch,...

My mother and Charley were great friends in Warner Robins GA in the late 60s and 70s....She mentioned him before she passed away March 3, 2020....may they still be friends in Heaven! RIP Charley!

Mr Brown was my most favorite teacher and art teacher of all time. I had him for art at Burney Harris Lyons Middle School. He was always so encouraging and genuinely interested in me as a student. Laura and I went to the Y together as kids. I am so sorry for your loss. I will always have fond memories of him.

We will miss your sense of humor and great friendship . Rest in peace.

The man, the artist, three service vet, fearless friend of mine. ...let the taps sound.
...you did well Charlie

Richard Olsen

With his four honorable discharges from three different military branches, his extensive construction experience in four different trades, his restaurant and bar experience, his management experience, his Masters in Fine Arts, his wit, his wisdom and the hundreds of brilliant friends he had from every walk of life, Charlie Brown was the true, real-life Most Interesting Man in the World. Laura & Jack, nothing anyone can say can fill your loss. But, know this, half of Athens weeps with you today.

Sorry to hear this. Enjoyed talking with Charlie a lot.
Praying for his family members.

Charlie was one of a kind. We didn't see much of each other in the past few years butI always admired his service and he was very proud of it. "Beautiful streamer, pen for me, blue sky above me, no canopy. . ." Drive On Captain Brown, Drive On"!
