Mrs. Hallie A. (Plitman) Marker, born on May 24, 1963 in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away suddenly at age 56 on May 29, 2019. A resident of Memphis, she was the beloved wife of Jeffrey and adored mother of their son, Adin. Hallie was preceded in death by her mother, Rae C. Plitman, and father, Gerald I. Plitman, MD, both of Memphis. A graduate of Darlington School in Rome, GA, Hallie later earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at Memphis State University. She served as a law clerk for the late U.S. District Court judge the Hon. Robert McRae, Jr. Subsequently, Hallie went into the private practice of law. Hallie so loved her family and friends. She had an amazing voice: an announcer at KWMU-FM, St. Louis Public Radio, and WKNO-FM in Memphis, she also sang beautifully. Listening to her sing along to her favorite tunes brought us great joy. She was an accomplished classical guitarist who pursued a performance major in music at Memphis State University. A voracious reader, she could connect with people on a variety of topics and causes. She was always willing to help those in need. We will miss her laughter, her wit and her smile. May her light and spirit sustain us in the days ahead. Among the many left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jeffrey, and their son, Adin; her brother, Jonathan D. Plitman and his wife, Patsy Manning, of High Point, NC; their children, Jacob Plitman of Brooklyn, NY, Allison Plitman of Atlanta, GA, Noah Plitman of Greensboro, NC, Ethan (Clara) New and their daughters, Isabella and Emily, of Tampa, FL, and dear friends Candia Ludy, Suzie Moore, Lestina Rodgers, Sophia Bougard, Cynthia Malone, Linda Gray, Mike Thompson, all of Memphis, and Jane P. Koenig of Forsyth, IL. Those who wish to do so may donate in Hallie's name to Pema Karpo Meditation Center, www.pemakarpo.org, or to the charity of their choice.
