Not sure what to say?

Although I haven't seen "Aunt Hank" that much since leaving Syracuse, she taught me several valuable lessons as I worked in her ceramics studio. I was never a natural when it came to ceramics and was frequently frustrated with my efforts. Her response still rings true in my head today: "If it was perfect, you could just buy it in a store. This is much better."

Those of us at yesterday's service for dear Hannah Meltzer could see so clearly her wonderful legacy -- children, in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and so many people inspired, touched, and loved by our warm, gracious, and giving Hannah.

For many years, I attended Hannah's ceramics classes in her Dewitt home. She was an inspiring teacher with a ready word of encouragement.Among my cherished possessions are passover plates, mirrors, and other items created with Hannah.

May God be with you.

I remember as a child, and growing up as an adult how much I admired Aunt Hannah. She possessed great beauty inside and out. I have pottery everywhere reminding me of her and the best is a painting she made for my parents which when they passed away, was given to my Son. I love seeing it in his home when I go to visit. She was a wonderful woman and we all loved her and will miss her.

While it has been many years since I have been in Syracuse and seen Aunt Hannah, I have many happy memories of her. My daughters (now grown with familes of their own) enjoyed going to the studio and painting pieces whenever we came to visit. I still have the plaques that they made in her studio. I also still have a floral painted sweatshirt that Aunt Hannah did that is very old,but I have not been able to get rid of it.Whenever I look at it hanging in the closet, it brings back fond...

To Hannah's Family
My husband and I are volunteers on the Terrace at Menorah where we became acquainted with Hannah. She was a dear, sweet lady with a ready smile and words to make you feel good. We tell the workers there the disease isn't who these persons are all about. When reading Hannah's obituary, she really brought these words to fruition. She was such an accomplished lady who bore out her sweet nature. We will miss seeing her as she was one of our favorites.

Hannah was a wonderful woman I came to know her when I married my husband David Carl Meltzer, her grandson. She was the kindest and most accepting woman. I believe she loved Gabrielle my daughter best of all in her later years. We have spent countless hours talking, watching her TV and listening to her music while she watered her plants on the Davenport. We would go in the yard and do some gardening, look at all the pictures of the children and family. I know she loved my girls with all her...
