Family-Placed Death Notice

UNDERSET, Hans DR. HANS UNDERSET, JR Dr. Hans Underset, Jr., 74, of Fayetteville died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family September 8, 2008 after a courageous 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents Hans Sr. and Margit Underset. Dr. Underset is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy A. Underset; son Dr. Craig and Cynthia Underset of Fayetteville; daughters Dede and John Stonebraker of Fayetteville and Susan and Ted Buffington of Parker, CO; grandchildren Amanda, Hannah, and David Stonebraker of Fayetteville and Parker Buffington of Parker, CO; sister Ruth Eikevik of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and sister Edie and Doug Andrews of Pensacola, FL. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 12, 2008 at 1:00PM at Fayette Bible Church with Pastor Wayne Turner officiating. Dr. Underset will lie in state at 12:30. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at C.J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Although Dr. Underset is no longer with us physically, he is still here in our hearts. We were fortunate enough to have met him when he was filling in for Dr. Clifton in Peachtree City. He was such a wonderful person and so proud of his children. I spent the entire time discussing our children and the last time my husband or I had seen Craig. Dear Nancy, Craig, Dede and Susan,

Mother and I just learned of the tragic news about Hans yesterday and were so saddened. Over the phone we reminisced about my babysitting days, and talks in the driveway or over the fence. I've always thought of you and Hans as the most devoted couple and greatest parents I have ever known. We both regret we were not there for the service to honor such a great man and dentist.

Dear Mrs. Underset, Craig, Dede, and Susan (and family): I was so saddened to read of Dr. Underset's passing. I have many fond memories of our years together as neighbors in Chippewa Forest. I saw him in '03 at Judy Wyatt's funeral. He was the same wonderful, caring man I remembered so warmly.
