Not sure what to say?

A major influence on my life

To Olguita and Susan,

Harry was my mentor when I was a teenager. He gave me a job when I was sixteen years old. I worked for Harry every summer form 1965 until I graduated from U of T in 1972. Not only did he thereby help pay for my education, he was a hard master who expected me to know what an electrical technician should know. I will never forget when he bought one of the first microprocessors ever produced and used it to make from scratch an electronic clock on the benches at Field...

Our love goes out to our cherished friend's family - so sorry for your loss. Harry was one of our parents' longest friends. He shared with my parents and so many others the legacy of the Second World War and the diaspora that followed. I remember meeting Olguita for the first time while skating at Toronto City Hall. Harry proudly introduced his new bride to us. Poor Olguita had known it was cold in Toronto, and so had put on TWO ponchos to deal with the February weather- but that wasn't...

I had the privilege of working with Harry during his years at Sensors & Software Inc. He was an amazing man with fascinating life stories which he shared with me in his book. Very sad to hear of his passing, hard to lose "one of a kind".

I first met Harry in 1972 at his fiefdom in the Field Aviation hangar. He and Don MacFadyen were my mentors to the world of airborne geophysics. He was an extremely talented and kind man who managed his shop like a family. I remember once getting a tour of his HAM radio installation in the basement and talking to members of his crew in northern Mali. He had set up a system where the field crews could talk to their families by telephone as if they were just across town. Harry was a remarkable...

I knew Harry through his daughter Susan, who became my good friend in College. We shared many similarities through our parents' upbringing and I always had great admiration for Mr. Jantsch. I, like his daughter Susan, loved to hear his stories of WWII and how he eventually ended up in Ecuador meeting the love of his life...Olguita!

Harry was our cherished neighbour for 20 years. We felt fortunate indeed to have found a wonderful family and an exceptional man who would become a much valued friend just steps away. Harry and Fritz spent many hours sharing stories and experiences accompanied by an occasional bottle of port. Harry's plum dumplings were a seasonal treat to which we all looked forward. Harry was a fascinating man, intelligent, honourable with a good sense of humour who loved his family dearly and was rewarded...

My husband, Donald, worked with Harry for many years - they were on opposite sides during WWII when Don was a decorated night intruder fighter pilot and Harry was probably involved in repairing planes that Don likely shot down. They became fast friends in Canada and always had the greatest respect for each other. Don died in 2009 and he would have been as sad as I am to know that Harry, too, has now passed on. I kept in touch by email with Harry and we had many talks about life which meant a...

1991 I first met Harry at Sensors & Software inc. I enjoyed many chats over the years. I had the privilege of sharing a special Christmas lunch At your home.
It is with deep sadness I hear of Harry's passing.
I send you our sincere condolences to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Mathoney
