Harford "Boone" Taite, Jr. was born April 7, 1952 in Clarke County, Alabama. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church until he unexpectedly passed away on March 27, 2020 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a graduate of Clarke County High School and joined the United States Army from August 1972 through July 1979. Shortly after, he joined the Army National Guard, which he served into the 1990s. His civilian employment included 23 years at SD Warren and driving for Knight Transportations until he retired in 2014. In 1984 Boone married Bobbie Jean Welch, and enjoyed 35 years of marriage, until she was called home to rest, just seven short months ago. Boone never met a stranger; he had a smile and conversation for whomever he met. Boone also cared very much about his family, school friends and neighbors and would help anyone in need without a second thought. He was respected by all, due to his easy going nature, the love for his children, especially his grandchildren and his way of making you feel everything was going to be alright. Boone was preceded in death by his parents Harford and Mary Taite of Chance, AL; two sisters, Gloria Taite (Griffin) of Las Vegas, NV and Marie Taite of Mobile, AL; and one granddaughter Jaderius Arrington of Virginia. Boone leaves behind his three daughters, Sandra (Milton) Avery, Amelia Kim Taite and Antoinette Olivia "Libby" Taite; adoring grandchildren, Edward Arrington, Jr., Trenton Taite and Maliyah Bonner; great grandchildren, Edward Arrington, III and Jada Marie Arrington; one sister, Mary Taite Harris; two brothers, Earl Taite and Elbert (Ardia) Taite; two nieces, Sharon Ellis and Zelda Ellis; nephew, Trevor Taite; great nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives a multitude of friends and schoolmates that were special to him. Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2020 in The Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort. Arrangements are entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home.
