Not sure what to say?

Better late than never as the cliche goes. Harlan had a huge impact on my decisions as a writer even when I decided to throw in the towel and try something else. To use the phrase "force of nature´ doesn´t really describe him- he reinvented the genres he touched and transcended the silos they were in as well touching on a variety of fiction. To his mind writers wrote stories without regard to barriers that separated them in the publisher´s mind (and the public, too). I salute Harlan who...

A tremendous loss. He was truly unique. One of the best short guys, excuse me -- short story writers of the 20th century.

I miss him greatly. The only person in this world who got what needed to be gotten. Hope Susan and him are in a even better temple, with all the olympia typewriters a guy could ask for.

Harlan was a Force unto himself. I'll remember him and miss him until my time, too, comes to go. I'll never stop reading Ellison; as long as any of us do, he may be gone, but never forgotten.

Gone...but not forgotten. Missing you both.

Cheers, to the greatest speculative short story writer ever!

God is a God of all Comfort and he will Comfort the Family's... My condolences

We had a great time bantering while walking down the WB street. Thanks for writing the story and giving me credit. Thanks for helping. Miss the honest bulldog. You always stood up for what you thought was right. An honest man, tough on the exterior and kind on the interior. D.R.

There is a hole in the world, and the winds sigh.
