I served with Willy on his first submarine the USS Blackfin (SS-322) home based in Pearl Harbor. It was a WWII diesel powered sub that had seen 5 war patrols during the war. Most of the men on that boat liked the Blackfin but Willy didn't. He was an engineman like me but he hated his job. He didn't like the head engineman a 1st class PO who was hard but great mechanic. It was very noisy, always over a hundred degrees. He couldn't wait to go home after his 4 years were up. He went home...

Catfishing just won't be the same. Oh, could Jim make us laugh, sigh, cry... we'll never forget that new smoker in that 100 degree southern heat, chicken was good though. Your stories were the best. We will miss you dear Uncle.
