Captain Harlan Helker was a true gentleman. I thought highly of him from the first time I flew with him in 1973.

When saying to Harlan, Hello! How are you? he would most often answer Oh, better than some and worse than others, as he smiled. Such was a true portrait of his humility, insight and respect for all people. Together with his wife, Grace, they created and shared a wonderful gift of caring for all life on earth and into heaven. May they be resting and rejoicing together now as we honor and miss them, but always will remember them, especially on Christmas. Peace to all the Helker Family...

It was a pleasure to visit with Harlan every time we ran into one another. He always made me smile. Maybe because he was always smiling at me! I loved his stories, attitude and curiosity. He was keeping on keeping on! We'll miss him.

My Uncle Harlan was one of the most kind, fun loving, noble person you will ever meet. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. Together with my Aunt Grace, he traveled the world. He always had good stories to tell. If he saw a wrong, he would try to make it right. He is missed terribly but will stay in my heart forever. I'll see you on the other side Uncle Harlan. I know you were so happy to be released from your earthly body and reunited with Aunt Grace, your mom and dad and all of...
