Not sure what to say?

Mr. Bartlett- I am so sorry to hear of Harleys passing. I had you as my history teacher at Hillsdale. I have the most FONDEST memories of Harley subbing along side you. One paticular time we were going the wrong way into the auditorium and Harley kept trying to tell you, and finally he was like "Dad!!!" IT was such a precious memory that I remember so well. He was such a great teacher and I loved the likeness but completely different teaching methods he had.

Jim and Dolores,
I'm so sorry to hear about Harley's passing. A little over a year ago I stumbled upon your phone number written in a book that Harley gave me back in High School. I called and left a message and you forwarded my number to him. It was so great to talk him, we spent an hour on the phone catching up. I'm grateful we had that little moment together before he passed. He was a loyal friend, kind and full of fun.

Mr and Mrs Bartlett, Luke and Sandra, I am so sorry to hear about Harley. We were good friends in college and had stayed in touch until a few years ago where our only interaction was Facebook. He was a special guy and I will always have fond memories of him and our times together. He gave his all to everything he did and he will be greatly missed.

Here is a pic of the last time we saw each other in person... July 2009.

College Friends

I’m so saddened to learn of Harley’s passing. He was a great person! I will always cherish the fun times we had during our college years. Though we hadn’t seen each other in a while our friendship remained a constant. My condolences to Harley’s family and all those who knew and loved him ♥

Jim and Dolores, Luke, Sandra, I'm sorry. That's all I can think of that even comes close to how any of us feel. Harley and I did a lot together that we should have gotten in a lot of trouble for. I know we kept his folks up late and into the morning light more than once. Now he's still keeping me up late thinking of tales and memories.

May the good memories remain in our hearts for many years to come! There are so many great memories too! My two daughters had the privilege of being in his history class at VCMS. They still have their projects they built and the memories of making them with their Dad. They worked together for hours all to please Mr. Bartlett and to meet his high standards! We will forever be greatful for his encouragement and high expectations for neat and careful work. Yes, lots and lots of notes! As...

I hope it somehow comforts you all that my son was yet another student that admired Mr Bartlett. Thank you for inspiring my son Mr Bartlett - Rest In Peace. Please accept our sincere condolences.

My daughter had him this year for social science and he was a great teacher. I appreciate that he tried to keep kiddos engaged and curious during distant learning - not an easy task. He would wear different hats and change his Zoom backgrounds to different places around the world to invite different discussions with his students. My daughter is now insisting we add Greece to our bucket list as Mr Bartlett talked about it so fondly. I am sure his memory will live on fondly in the many...
