I was so sorry to read about Harley's death. I was with him in the 558th at Cam Ranh Bay. When my memories go back to that time, Harley is the first person I see, he saved my bacon one night. Such a larger than life man and we all loved and respected him. Readers Digest used to have an article "My Most Unforgettable Character", that would be Harley. My condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren for the loss of such a great man.

Ann and I were across the street neighbors of the Hughes´ in Alexandria, Virginia for eleven years after Harley had completed his illustrious Air Force career. How fortunate we were, one could not ask for better neighbors and friends. Because our families travelled frequently we became each other´s house and pet sitters.
