Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to hear that Harold has passed; saddened for us but happy that he is now with the Lord and that we will see him again someday as our time comes. Harold was my Pastor and friend since I moved here from LINY December 1986 until life changes caused me to attend church closer to my home. He also officiated my father (Ferdinand "Fred" J. Rotolo) and step-mother's (Dolores C. O'Donnell Holland Ladd Rotolo) wedding bringing together two special people in my life. Later he officiated...

Since Harold lived far away, I didn’t see him often, but he was always a calm and cheery voice at Thanksgiving dinners. I remember Harold as a generous man who often sent a box of citrus at holiday times and sometimes showed up at Thanksgiving with other gifts in advance of Christmas. I grew up hearing about Harold’s fast ball, which was apparently quite an impressive pitch that the neighborhood kids struggled to hit. I had a few opportunities to see Harold handle some moments where his views...

Harold was an amazing, wonderful person. He was a friend. I learned from him. The way he lived his life added goodness to this world.

I've known Harold since the 1970s when he became the pastor at the Presbyterian Church I attended. Those were turbulent times; Harold worked with the community to improve communication and for civil rights.
I am happy I reconnected with him last year. He worked tirelessly for the acceptance of all. I send my condolences to his family and loved ones.

Great guy; knew him from the late seventies till his departure. Had lunch with him a year or so ago. He thought about people as the Lord would, outside the box, to be loved more than theology or church doctine. I'll see you in a few Harold.

My deepest sympathy to the Brockus Family for the loss of your loved one, Harold, and pray God gives you comfort, peace and strength.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing God is with you and your family lean on him in your time of need. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences.

Rev. Harold Brockus was an irreplaceable clergy colleague in Pinellas from my return to Saint Petersburg in 1976. His leadership in our Inclusive Faith Communities coalition led to greater visibility for religious congregations who welcomed LBGTQ+ and all people. His love for all families showed in his personal support for my own family and children, from his outreach at Good Samaritan to his presence at Eckerd College. In recent years I appreciated sharing worship in the “pews” with him and...
