BUTLER, Jr., Harold 'Harry' Lt. Colonel, USAF'Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth on sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things..." "High Flight" - Pilot officer John Gillespie...

Not sure what to say?

I had the great please of serving with Harry at Fourth AF in Logistics Plans. He was dedicated, deeply committed, and it was a pleasure having him on the staff. I especially appreciated his great sense of humor and I always looked forward to having him around and associating with him. He was a remarkable man in so many ways.

Peg, So sorry to hear about Harry's passing, I know you will miss him dearly. Harry was the "absolute best" at attention to detail, and keeping our Log Plans shop up there as the gold standard. He was a prince of a guy to have in the office. I loved the AF color scheme painted camaro of his.....looked like a mini-141 going down the road! God bless Harry, you and the family. My Respects, Royce Harnsberger

Harry was a true patriot in every sense of the word. He was inspirational and a great mentor to me as a young mustang officer. And my family always enjoyed watching him cruise in his MG during the Carmichael 4th of July parades! God Bless him and his family.

Dear Peg,
So Sorry to hear of Harry's passing. Ken found the obit today. Ken sure enjoyed working for him in the the 940th both at McClellan & Mather. We both enjoyed our get togethers back then too with Harry and you. He was always smiling and joking around with us during those times. Our prayers are with you during this sad time.

I had the good fortune, as a fellow reservist, of working for Harry for many years, when he commanded the 940th's Combat Support Squadron at Mather AFB. Harry had two goals: Getting the job done right, and doing right by his troops. In both goals, he excelled. It is fitting that his obituary appears in the midst of Memorial Day observances. Many of us remember Harry Butler, the go-to guy in the 940th's CSSC. My condolences to his family.

Peg: I am so sorry to hear of Harry's passing. He was my dear friend, traveling buddy and a good worker as we shared times at 4th AirForce. I will miss my friend. God bless.
