Not sure what to say?

I will always have very fond memories of Mr. Chapman at St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a dear man, and I was blessed to be able to take him home communion during the last weeks of his life. He was in good spirits. I'll miss him always.

Many fond memories of Leon High School were created by "Mr. Chapman" and chorus classes and concerts by him. Our LHS class of 1957 will treasure those memories and extend to his family a sincere "thank you" for his time. I am currently a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where he had been a member and had served on the vestry. I know that my love for church music was influenced by him and lead to my becoming Episcopalian.

Without any doubt at all, Mr. Chapman had a profound influence on me and my two sisters while attending Leon High School. While we never became wonderful singers and orchestral players, our appreciation of and interest in great music began with Mr. Chapman. How different and bland our lives would have been without him?

Mr. Chapman touched many lives and especially mine. My love of music was encouraged by him and I went on to sing professionally in New York. He was one of my favorite teachers and we will all miss him but thank him for all he did for us his students.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of this fine man. Burt Hayner and Betty Kirby-Hayner

Cynthia, Matthew, David, Diane, Patrick, Brian. Love and prayers for each of you. Chappy was a wonderful inspiritation in my life. I am truly grateful for his the wisdom and counsel. I pray you each the peace and comfort of our Lord and that Chappy may grow from life into greater life and from the the love he expressed and shared with each of us into an even greater and more abiding love.

We will always remember how we enjoyed the Chapman Christmas parties and singing the carols!

Dear David and Cynthia, I also attended St. John Episcopal Church, where I first met you two. I also, have fond memories of both of your parents. Your Father allowed me to join the Leon High School Chorus, even though I was not a vocalist, but oh how I enjoyed being in Chorus. He was respected and loved by all. Several years ago Marie Mills Parramore and I stopped at your family home and visited with your Father. I remember seeing pictures of you two and of Cynthia's son. He was...

To the family of Mr. Chapman, I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all and always will be. Love, Robin Brock
