When I was a kid my dad and I watched him and I loved that show. He was a great man, never to be forgotten. I was fortunate enough to go to some of the places that he fished. I appreciated that man we're taking. The time to show us how to enjoy the outdoors. I Still talk to my friend about him I was fortunate to meet Harold. At restaurant in Wichita. After watching Mr. Ensley's Sportsman's friend my friend Mike and I would take our for Onion Creek in south east Kansas and see what we could do. Learned a lot from Mr Ensley. A fine Christian man.

I remember his show on TV. Use to see his car pass by my grandparents house on Blue Ridge Blvd. in Raytown, Mo. I think he lived in Raytown.

Harold and the family would treat you with warmth and generosity.

I was a young boy growing up and Harold brought my dreams to life. He was the dad I never had . God bless him.

In my home back in the 60s and 70s Harold Ensley was a household word. We watched him about every week. Gave out such a homey presence. I had a wonderful young teacher at Cherokee Elementary in Overland Park, Kansas named Miss Gaddert who halfway through my 2nd grade year married Harold Ensleys son Dusty and she became Mrs. Ensley!
