HAROLD FARB, revered as a bigger than life Houston developer, fulfilled his own prophecy that he would leave this earth with a new creative project on the drawing board and a song in his heart. All too soon, and unexpectedly, he passed away at the age of 83, on October 10, 2006. At the time of...

Not sure what to say?

I met Mr. Farb in the late 70s. His office was in a strip center at the corner of Braeswood and Chimney Rock (I believe). Very small office. I was about to become a vendor and I lived in one of his newer projects on Fondren. He told me what he wanted and I had no idea how big that job was to become. I still recognize his designs (always reminded me of New Orleans with all the iron work). I know its almost 2025 but I haven't forgot Mr. Farb.

I was in employee back in the 80s in Houston Texas. The training I had working for the Farb family lead me to continue my career in leasing currently in Las Vegas Nevada.

As a little girl, I used to daydream about the "Old World." About Ballroom Dancing and Real Lounge Singing, of Flappers and of the slower pace of life that was not all that long ago. When I first met Mr. Farb, it was like walking into one of my daydreams with his Old World Charm, Elegance and Wisdom. He will always be remembered as a man of Integrity, Honor, Morale, Dignity and Compassion. I have been honored and blessed to work for such a man and will miss him deeply. It is still hard...

And now, seven months later, I still miss Mr. Farb. He lived his life the way we all should: with honor...compassion...kindness...integrity...fairness...and respect for everyone he met. He cared deeply and it showed in both his employees and his residents. His mottos, "WE CARE" and "ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING" are ingrained in my mind and heart. I can't hear them or see them written without thinking of the great man that taught me what they REALLY mean. Harold Farb was that great man and I...

Mrs. Farb, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I apologize for the delay, but I did not know what to say and if it was the right time, with all the grief you were going through. Mr. Farb was like a father to me because he saw me grow up, and I am proud to say that I am the man that I am now because of him. He believed in me and I will never forget the kind of man that he was, loving, caring, and honest.

My family and I miss you very much and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you. Thank you for making the man that I am now. I miss our conversations and I will never forget how much you really cared for me and my family and the times you offered your help. I Miss you Mr. Farb, and I will continue to do the best that I can for your business in your honor.

In the 29 years I have worked for Mr. Farb, I could write a book about all my experiences with the company and all my conversations with Mr. Farb. I would not trade one minute for all these years. He was such an honorable person. I loved talking to him and listening to stories about his life. My heart goes out to Mrs. Farb. I will never forget him.

One of the best things I remember about Mr. Farb is that he always had time for his employees. He treated everyone the same and if you had an idea you wanted to present he always made time to listen. He may not have agreed but he listened. He was always open for new ideas. I enjoyed my 23 years working with and for Mr. Farb.

I sure do miss working for you Mr, Farb. You helped me and my 2 daughters get away from a bad life, i owe you every thing, Thank you for being a wonderful man and giving me the job you helped me out more than anyone would know.
