Not sure what to say?

I first met Mr. Forshey when I was about 5-6 years old. I lived on McCrea Street in Fort Edward, NY, where he grew up, and played with his nieces Suzanne and Nanette. When he came up to visit in August, he was always fun to talk with. He spoke to us like we were adults and used to show us judo moves. I remember him as a very nice man.

Sorry to hear of Harold's passing. For many years when he was in the area he would stop by the Glens Falls YMCA Judo club and offer his expertise. We looked forward to his annual visits. He will be missed for sure. My life is a little richer having known him.
My best to his family

We have been friends a lomg time. You were always one of my favorite Judo Teachers. I will miss you but I know you are now in a better place. Thank you for coming into my life and being a friend. Phil from Tampa Fla.

We are sorry to hear of Harold's passing. Our prayers will be with the family. The Salvation Army calls the passing of someone as a "Promotion to Glory". God bless you Mary Kay and your family,

When Uncle Sonny (Harold) visited his family every August in the North Country, he looked forward to homegrown tomatoes, dog shack hot dogs, and lunch at Pat Russo's Dugout.
Whenever you passed a phone booth you would be sure to find a dime in the coin return when you were with Uncle Sonny.
One of our most memorable lunches was spaghetti at J.C. Penney's. It was horrible! Every year Uncle Sonny would say: "Let's have spaghetti at Penney's". We would laugh and laugh.

Mr.Forshey was my Senseis' Sensei. I 1st heard of Mr.Forshey when I was a child starting of in Judo, I would hear stories of this unmoveable man with hands that were to be rekoned with. Now as an adult and years after having met him and even now after his passing I will pass on his legacy of Judo as my sensi has passed it on to me from Mr.Forshey. Through future generations of Judokas this memory will live on.

Mr Forshey I wish I could thank you just one more time for the life you have helped me make for myself and for all our Judo friends
over these years. I know we will miss you and that the Dojo will never be the same without you.
We wish to express our condolences to the Forshey family from his family of judo students.
He was my SENSEI for over 30 years. Thank you

I recall a visit with Harold and Mary Kay one warm and sunny afternoon at Pauline's and Dink's farm. Pauline, Dink, Kathleen, Joe, Mary Kay, Rosie and I (maybe others) were gathered on lawn chairs alongside the house swapping family stories, laughing and having a generally good time. When it was time to go Rosie and I both kissed Harold on the cheek much to his surprise. We laughed and made him an honorary "kissing cousin". Harold will be remembered as being very good natured and well-liked....

Uncle Sonny played an important role in all of his nieces and nephews lives. He would come to visit us in Ft. Edward,NY, and spend time with each and every one of us. He made all of us feel special.

I think he was probably everyone's favorite uncle. I know he certainly was mine.

Peace to him now and to his family.
