A good honest man Harold R. Foster, 82, of Longview passed away Feb. 7, 2010, at home.

He was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Syracuse, N.Y., and moved to Longview in 1976 from California.

Fuzz was a 20 year veteran of the Navy and Air Force combined. He served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was an aircraft mechanic, general contractor and owned a janitorial company. Fuzz was a member of the American Legion for 34 years and enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans. He also enjoyed gardening, tending his fruit trees, blue berries and bee hives, charter fishing and clam digging.

Fuzz loved and cherished his family and friends. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it.

He married Dorthy Rick in California in 1964. She survives him at home. Also surviving are eight children, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. They all loved him and will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Columbia Funeral Service. Viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

FUZZ
WHAT A GREAT MAN
You excepted Dorothy's children as your own. I know they all respect and
love you, as we all do.
I'm glad I got to go to your favorite
hang-out and meet your pals. Now you
could pass on to me your luck on those
pull-tabs (must have been the luck of
the Irish)
Our spirts will one day all be together
Love you Fuzz and will miss you
Jim

You will always be remembered and treasured. I can hear you now singing "oh Danny boy" and slapping your knees. You brought me many smiles. Rest in peace Fuzz and Thank you for being you.

Great grandpa fuzz, hi it's Bianca. Even though i didn't see you all the time, i loved you always. I'm gonna miss whenever my dad and i visited Washington, you saying "OH danny boy" to my daddy. and how you would kick me off your chair to watch football. My next visit to Washington will definately not be the same without you. I know my great gramma Dorothy will be ok. I love you alot, & i know your in a better place where no pain overcomes you. You will be missed

To the family of Harold Foster: Those who have died will never be forgotten. Their sacrifice for their country will live on forever in the hearts of all who cherish freedom. Remembering your loved one. Condolences,

If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane, we would walk all the way to heaven to bring you home to us. I didn't get to say good-bye, you were gone before I knew it.
My heart aches in sadness and I will miss you always and forever. Please don't worry about Mom, I made you a promise and I will be there to watch over her for you.

Your loving daughter,
Carol

Harold was not my birth father, but he was truly my Dad since I was 13 years old. I was blessed by him in that he always made me feel that he loved me unconditionally, he encouraged me, and often told me how proud he was of me, my husband, and our sons, Jason, Adam, and Jeremy. I miss him not being here so much, but I am also happy that he is at peace and free from his illness. He and his love for me will always be with me in my heart and soul. Thank you Dad, I miss you.
