Our condolences to the Hayward family. Harry was a contemporary of my father (both pilots in the RNZAF) and in those days our families were close. I spent a lot of time as a youngster with Peter and Baz playing and getting into mischief. Harry was a lovely man and a true gentleman it was wonderful that he made it to 101.

Very sorry to hear of Harry's death. He and Valda were my neighbours for many years in Lower Hutt. I remember Harry with a cheery smile enjoying pottering round his garden. My condolences to his family. He was a true gentleman.

I was sad to read of the death of our oldest Hayward relative - a cousin of my Mum - Betty Hills (nee Hurdle) and remembered by the writer from his visit to Lytton Street School in the 50's and later when he was a Tutor at TCI in Lower Hutt.
